Curriculum Overview 2018-2019

Our curriculum is integral to our mission, vision and values; it is a curriculum which believes every child will succeed and challenges children to do their very best.

In addition, provides opportunities to learn responsibility, resilience and shows children to learn for themselves and with others.

Our children enjoy and experience high quality, meaningful and purposeful learning which promotes enquiry and a love of learning. Building on children’s God-given curiosity, a broad and rich range of topics, making connections to the bigger picture and uses creativity to engage and enthuse pupils. Children are motivated and engaged; St. Andrew’s CE Primary School is growing independent, reflective learners who are active participants in their own education.

High-quality planning, assessment and targeted interventions ensure children not only succeed but are enriched with unique and memorable learning experiences.

A vital element to our curriculum, is measuring its impact, continual improvement and evolution. We listen to our pupils, value their views and reflect what they say. Annual curriculum reviews adapt and develop learning in response to evaluations from children, staff and developments in innovative teaching and learning. Progress and achievement, engagement and quality is assessed across the curriculum throughout the year.

This ensures our curriculum is shaped to provide learning which is matched to the needs, interests and future lives of the children at St. Andrew’s CE Primary School.
