OUR VISION

At St. Andrew's we welcome you to our happy, safe and Christian family, where we encourage everyone to do their very best.  Our vision is to inspire our children to be confident individuals, who are excited about learning and curious about the world they live in.  It is our desire that every child who joins St. Andrew’s will achieve high academic standards and indeed, as our school motto states ‘Reach for the Stars’ and beyond!

Biblical Foundation - I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

Our vision reflects a Christian understanding of God  - We believe in a loving, creating, and empowering God who knows each person individually. This inspires our educational mission to nurture every child's God-given potential, seek academic excellence, and provide teaching of the highest possible standard within a Christian family environment.

Our vision reflects our belief about ourselves and each other - We believe that every child and adult in our community is uniquely created in the image of God, precious, and deserving of the very best. From an educational perspective, this drives our commitment to personal and academic flourishing. We aim to enable pupils to develop confidence, independence, lively enquiring minds, high standards of personal conduct, and a strong sense of self-worth.

It reflects our belief about the world - We believe we are called to live well together in harmony and stewardship. We encourage our children to be curious about the world they live in, to develop questioning skills, and to build the knowledge and resilience needed to meet the challenges of everyday life with hope.

Our Vision in practice

We live out our vision and values in active partnership with parents and the wider community by:

  • Ensuring all children receive an enriched, balanced curriculum underpinned by Christian values that encourages every child to achieve their full potential and seek academic excellence
  • Providing high-quality teaching that enables pupils to develop questioning skills, lively enquiring minds, and a lifelong excitement for learning.
  • Modelling high standards of personal conduct, encouraging positive behaviour, and developing spiritual growth and courageous advocacy.
  • Creating an attractive, stimulating, secure, and safe environment where every contribution is valued and everyone is looked after.

Our school holds six core values that sit at the absolute heart of everything we do: kindness, peace, perseverance, faithfulness, love, and joy.

Our vision and these values are inextricably linked, working seamlessly together to shape our daily life, our curriculum, and our community.  Deeply rooted in Christian teachings, this alignment ensures that our academic aspirations and spiritual growth are anchored in faith, inspiring every child to live out these values as they 'Reach for the Stars' and beyond.

KINDNESS (Ephesians 4:32 – 'Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.')

Our commitment to a warm welcome and high standards of behaviour mirrors Ephesians 4:32. We make kindness an active daily practice by valuing each person's contributions, supporting our peers, and fostering a forgiving, compassionate environment where everyone feels respected.

PEACE (2 Thessalonians 3:16 – 'May the Lord of peace give you peace always in everything. The Lord will be with you all.')

Providing a safe and secure learning environment directly reflects the blessing of 'peace always in everything' (2 Thessalonians 3:16). This deep, God-given tranquility removes anxiety, creating the foundation that inspires our pupils to become confident individuals who feel free to take risks in their learning.

PERSEVERANCE (2 Thessalonians 3:13 – 'But you, friends, must not become tired of doing right.')

Reaching beyond the stars demands resilience, which is why we equip pupils to handle the challenges of everyday life.  This aligns with 2 Thessalonians 3:13's call to not become tired of doing right.  Working in active partnership, our children never work alone; together, we find the strength to persevere and keep striving for our best.

FAITHFULNESS (Proverbs 3:3 – 'Let love and faithfulness never leave you, bind them around your neck, and write them on the tablet of your heart.')

Challenging everyone to do their very best requires steadfast dedication. Proverbs 3:3 urges us to write faithfulness 'on the tablet of your heart.'  By weaving Christian values throughout our curriculum and partnering with parents, we help children develop a strong moral compass and a faithful commitment to unlocking their unique, God-given talents.

LOVE (1 John 3:18 – 'My children, our love should not be just words and talk: it must be true love, which shows itself in action.')

As a Christian family, we believe love must show itself in action (1 John 3:18). We practice this daily by providing an enriched curriculum that encourages every child to reach their full potential.  Supporting our pupils to 'Reach for the Stars' is our ultimate practical demonstration of Christ-like love.

JOY (Romans 12:12 – 'Let your heart keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles and pray at all times.')

We believe education should bring deep delight.  Our vision of a happy school family where children are excited about learning directly aligns with Romans 12:12.  By providing a stimulating environment, we foster a joyful curiosity and a prayerful resilience, helping our pupils look at the world with hope and enthusiasm.
